CNN —Miami has a new addition to its skyline – a 66-story residential tower built by Aston Martin, marking the British luxury sports carmaker’s first foray into the residential real estate market. Comprising of 391 units, Aston Martin Residences Miami sits at the mouth of the Miami River on Biscayne Bay, the firm said in a statement Tuesday. Aston Martin touchesHomeowners are able to customize their interior space with the help of the Aston Martin design team, with three style packages – Timeless, Covert and Indulgent – drawing on the company’s British heritage, as well as the building’s context. Aston Martin Residences MiamiAston Martin said that 99% of the properties sold before the building was completed. Tesla on Tuesday published its first-quarter vehicle production and deliveries report for 2024 that showed deliveries fell 8.5% from the year-ago quarter and about 20% from the fourth quarter. Tesla doesn't break out sales by model but reported that it produced 412,376 Model 3/Y cars and delivered 369,783. In the fourth quarter of 2023, Tesla reported 484,507 deliveries and production of 494,989 vehicles. Deliveries are the closest approximation of sales reported by Tesla but are not precisely defined in the company's shareholder communications. The system is marketed as Full Self-Driving but doesn't make Tesla cars autonomous.

CNN —Armed police raided Peru’s government palace and the private home of President Dina Boluarte in search of Rolexes and other luxury watches as part of a preliminary corruption inquiry. The probe was prompted by Peruvian news outlet La Encerrona’s investigation into Boluarte’s watches. After reviewing thousands of photographs of the President, La Encerrona determined that Boluarte owned at least 14 luxury watches. Peruvian media have since dubbed the incident the “Rolex case.”Boularte had denied any wrongdoing before the raid, saying anything she owned was a result of her hard work. Peru has in recent years been rattled by political instability, with president after president brought down by allegations of corruption or political malfeasance.

The London-listed company forecast wholesale volumes of about 7,000 units for 2023, slightly below average market expectations of 7,134. The British company reported a bigger adjusted operating loss of 118 million pounds ($142.20 million) for the year ended Dec. 31, compared with a loss of 74.3 million pounds for the same period a year earlier. Analysts on average had expected adjusted operating loss to come in at 135 million pounds for 2022, according to a company-compiled consensus.

Tesla also will create more Twitter and promotional content, which could move the brand away from its close identification with Musk. Gerber, a Los Angeles investment manager, is a longtime Tesla bull who initially cast his run as that of a "friendly activist." While his wealth-management firm had only about 440,000 shares of Tesla he has received backing from larger shareholders online.

Musk is defending against claims he defrauded investors by tweeting on Aug. 7, 2018, that he had "funding secured" to take Tesla private at $420 per share, and that "investor support is confirmed." Musk testified for about five hours on Monday and for less than 30 minutes on Friday. Tesla's stock price surged after Musk's 2018 tweets, only to fall as it became clear the buyout would not happen. Musk testified that when tweeting about the financing, he was saying "not that it will happen, but that I am thinking about it," and that it was his "opinion" that funding was secured. Musk said the fund's governor, Yasir Al-Rumayyan, later backpedaled on the commitment to take Tesla private.
